Opening Night is Friday, September 16, 2022
Pat Harris’ adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing was originally scheduled to be performed in 2020 but was cancelled due to COVID-19. It will now be leading off our new 2022-23 season of Lamp-Lite Theatre.
The play is a unique rendition of one of William Shakespeare’s most popular comedies. The story is timeless, even today: young couple meets, falls in love, and nothing goes according to plan.
A married (in real life) couple plays the two leads, both of whom are determined to NEVER marry. Roz Couch plays Beatrice, while Jamie Couch is Benedick. Portraying the happy young couple who happily plan to marry are Olivia Dean as Hero and Ian Reed as Claudio. Scott Parrish plays Constable Dogberry, who leads the bumbling, comedic watchmen.
Behind the scene, making it all come together, are Pat Harris, Director; Charisse Gregory, Musical Director; Katherine Parrish Whitbeck, Assistant Director; and Tari Dean, Stage Manager.
Regardless of whether you have little or no experience with Shakespeare, or are an ardent fan, chances are you will enjoy this classic tale of romance, deception and comic situations that arise … "as merry as the day is long.”
