Nunsense II — The Second Coming


Nunsense II–The Second Coming opens the 49th season at Lamp-Lite. The sequel features the original cast of comedians from Nunsense IDeborah Dalton, Jackie Vose, Nita Hudson, Katherine Whitbeck and Karrie Watts step back into their hilarious roses to delight the audience once more with a variety show that includes a roller skate musical number and a bingo game.


Nunsense I and Nunsense II are both international hits that have entertained audiences in Las Vegas, New York and all over the world.

Never Too Late


This hit comedy from the Sixties ran for two years on Broadway and was presented by the Lamp-Lite Players in 1979.


Lamp-Lite’s "mature leading man," Rick Jones, plays the surprised “expecting father-to-be” and is joined by a gang of favorite Lamp-Lite comedians, including Charisse Gregory, Amy Maurer, Tiffany Gauntt and Trae Norman.

What We Need


What We Need, a new play by Ken Untiedt, focuses on Alex Jones, an ordinary guy who is divorced, struggling to maintain a relationship with his kids, foundering at work and failing in romance.

He forms an unlikely friendship with Walter, a WWII veteran he meets at the grocery store. As he learns more about Walter and the challenges he overcame, Alex gains an appreciation for the opportunities before him. He  decides to be bold…and starts taking chances.


Alex introduces his kids to Walter and his wife, and to the nurse who cares for them. Together, they all embrace a new, unexpected chapter in their lives.


The cast includes Bill Small, Carla Redfield, Tina Oswald, Kearsten Clark Humber, Sally Ellsworth, Olivia Dean, Jody Ryan, Joshua Hall, Hollis Thompson and Ken Untiedt.

Much Ado About Nothing


Pat Harris’ adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing will include Lamp-Lite’s talented newcomers, joined by a cast of seasoned performers, to present a unique rendition of one of William Shakespeare’s most popular comedies. The story is timeless, even today: young couple meets, falls in love, and nothing goes according to plan.

Whether you have little or nor experience with Shakespeare, or are an ardent fan, chances are you will enjoy this classic tale of romance, deception and comic situations that arise…”as merry as the day is long.” (Act II, i).

2019-20 Season


The 2019-20 Season at Lamp-Lite Theatre marks the 49th season the venerable Lamp-Lite Players have brought live theatre to East Texas Audiences.


This year's lineup includes three plays written by local Lamp-Lite playwrights, two of which — Ken Untiedt's What We Need and Pat Harris' Much Ado About Nothing — will be making their theatrical debuts this season. In addition, Pat Harris' delightful Christmas play, Finding Christmas, will be returning to the Lamp-Lite stage again this season.

A Texas Tragedy


Dr. Bobby Johnson’s true re-telling of the New London School Explosion comes to life once more on Lamp-Lite’s stage.


Twenty seasoned actors of all ages will take the audience back to that fateful day in March of 1937. Author of the play, Bobby is now living in Magnolia Court, still writing and looking forward to seeing his play on stage again.


Lisa and Trae Norman, Steven Zane Bryant, and Lisa Lalumandier head the huge cast of all ages.

Finding Christmas


In December, we will once again present Finding Christmas, written and directed by Pat Harris. The Musical Director for the show will be Charisse Gregory.


Santa’s workshops are slowing down, people have lost their Christmas spirit, and Santa and the elves have the blues. The pressures of the holiday season have become so tedious that fewer people are enjoying themselves and each other. Someone NEEDS to find a solution before Santa’s workshops shut down forever!
